Has your period gone missing?

Maybe it has been a few months or a few years that you've been going through life without a period at this point.

At first, you didn't think it was a big deal. Maybe you recently got off birth control, or have worked to lose a substantial amount of weight. And because society normalizes period loss in these case scenarios, you've thought to yourself, 'its okay my body just needs to regulate, my period will come back eventually.'

Maybe you haven't been through either of those situations, and it's just that you've recently decided to get really healthy. You started working out a lot, eating super 'clean', and going all non toxic. You wanted to do all of these things in the name of health because thats what the internet world is telling us to do.

The lifestyle change seemed to be working, until your period disappeared. And it hasn't come back...Now you're left confused and wondering, why has this happened and what do you need to do to fix it?

So you get to googling and discover Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (HA).

What does it mean to have Hypothalamic Amenorrhea?

If you've come to realize that you are in HA. You have come to the right place. I've been in your shoes, twice...

HA is not a disease. It is a state your body goes into when it is undernourished and over-stressed. It is a protective mechanism by the brain - to alert you that the state you are in is unsuitable for reproduction. Hence the period loss.

Hypothalamic Amenorrhea sets in after prolonged times of stress, over exercising, or limited caloric intake. But it is usually a combination of the 3. The good thing is that it is reversible.

It is possible to come out of HA and get your period back NATURALLY! Despite what your doctor may say.

If I could guess, your MD or OBYGN has probably recommended you birth control to get your period back? Or a Provera challenge to see if it would get you to have a bleed? Been there, trust me. But neither of these things ACTUALLY bring back a TRUE period.

So how do you actually get your period back naturally?

I'm glad you asked! HA recovery is a lifestyle change at the end of the day.

You body and brain need to come out of the state of stress and depletion that it is currently in- in order to feel safe enough to ovulate and get your period. This lifestyle change is going to take strength and determination, but dang is it worth it.

The basics of recovery require eating more, resting more, cutting back on exercise, and making certain lifestyle adjustments to lessen external stressors.

It sounds like a lot, and it may feel that way at first. But I know that you can do it because having a period is a vital sign! Not having a period is a red flag and something that should not be ignored or brushed off by your doctor.

I encourage you to start making these changes on your own, as well as listen to my podcast and Youtube videos for more guidance on recovery at home.

But if you want some real 1:1 guidance, from a girl who has been in your shoes, I hope that you will schedule a free call with me. We can talk about your situation and get you started on your true recovery journey today.

Don't wait any longer to get your back your period, your fertility, and feel like you again.

If this helped you- please share with someone else who may need it.
